T-Minus 12 Weeks: Moving etc...

Today marks week 27, the final week of the 2nd Trimester and the calm before the moving storm. For the normal pregnancy, we'd have 13 more weeks to chug along and plan, but since our first open heart surgery requires more planning than usual, we've lost a week. Sand in the hour glass seems to be spiraling downward at breakneck speed. 12 weeks feels like 12 days right now. Albert Einstein might have more interesting things to say about this perception, but you guys are stuck with me.

Tomorrow is filled with house appointments which I will thankfully not be present for, but will still bite my nails with worry over. Is our house structurally sound? Gosh, I sure hope so- we do still live here. Is it worth what the other appraiser said it was? Is it worth more (yes, please) or less (ahhh, no!!!)? Radon? Not last time we checked, but who knows?

Tomorrow is basically final exam day. If everything goes well, we're full steam ahead. If not, well, I'm trying not to contemplate that possibility. Unlike your normal exams these you can't study for. No amount of late night starring at my walls or floor will make them stronger- they either are or are not sturdy. No amount of decorating will make the house more or less valuable. Right now, our sole task is to go to our respective jobs in the morning and let these fine folks do theirs.

We are, of course, planning for all good news. I rented a POD storage container that will be delivered on Wednesday. Now, instead of madly running boxes to a moving truck at the last second, we can spend the next 3 weeks packing up and loading at our convenience. We have the POD rented for 30 days, which means we can also unpack at our convenience. We'll let you know how well it works, but so far the idea is immensely appealing (thanks, mom, for encouraging me to do this).

So, if anyone wants to come over during any of the next 3 weekends and help put stuff in boxes and then shuffle them 100 paces to an onsite storage container, I'm all ears. And if these next 3 weekends don't suit your fancy, I've got another one at the end to do the reverse :)

UPDATE: Structural Inspection went perfectly
